Introducing Going Out On a Whim . . .
An introduction to my whimsical self and the thoughts I plan to share.

Hello there, and thanks for stopping by!
Somehow you’ve found your way to my neck of the woods, which means you are a very special kind of person—and probably a bit adventurous.
The roots of this post were initially posted on Medium and Vocal, but I have since shut down those blogs and shifted over to Substack, where I can focus more on writing for people who actually want to read what I have to say.
I’m opting for “quality over quantity,” as they say.
Anywho, anyhow, anyway . . . Who am I?
I’m Abigail, a Christian editor and book formatter, logophile, language afficionado, and writer. 🗒️
That’s the short version. Here’s the longer version ↯
I have always had a flair for adventure and a knack for words — a combination that can lead to only one thing: writing!
What do I write about? Anything and everything! I love to write about my hobbies and adventures, special interests and research projects. History, entrepreneurship, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, the writing world, agriculture, music, family, and my faith.
I am the mind behind the madness of Servant's Song Publishing,* where I offer everything from writing and editing to help navigating the self-publishing world.
*(Yes, that's a link to my website; go check it out!)
As a little backstory, I grew up in the freedom of homeschool. I was encouraged from early childhood to learn, explore, and create; to be my own person and not get stuck in the rut of what's expected or normal when something better is out there waiting to be found.
I never did get my mom's artistic talent, but words? Words were my thing. Reading, writing, languages . . . I love them. Not just those of course. I also love music, history, culture, even math (that one's complicated because while I am mathematical by nature, math wasn't my preferred subject in school).
Why the blog? Well, to continue the story, I analyze and investigate things, and I am independent and self-motivated. Combine that with a love for writing and reading, an understanding of and frustration with colleges (student debt? No way!) and the economy, and the random opportunity to edit someone's book . . .
Well, the result is a freelancer.
A freelance writer and editor, specifically.
Not being terribly outgoing, it took me a while to finally decide to go public with my business and with my writing but I've since found my community, established my business, and now I'm getting my blogs up and running (instead of, you know, deleting all my drafts).
I look forward to creating a portfolio for anyone interested in hiring me to view, but more so I look forward to just sharing who I am, what I'm up to, and the thoughts that whiz through my mind all day.
If you'd like to get to know me better, give me a like and subscribe to get notified when I release a new article!
Also, check out my website and follow me on LinkedIn and LiiightHouse!
For more specialized content about my faith, I have a separate publication you can follow called A Piece of My Mind.
For behind-the-scenes content from my upcoming novels, check out my Lexi’s List publication!
I’m inviting you to come along for the adventure as I Go Out On a Whim and share my thoughts; fanciful and useful alike.
Blessings!
