It's Been Busy
A little life + work update for those who were wondering where I went & what I've been up to
Where did I go???
I know, I know. I am awful about ghosting my social media and leaving my audience hanging. I am also moderately delusional when it comes to believing I can take on more than I can handle at once, but where’s the fun in keeping ambition to a manageable size?
I’m going to keep this short and lighthearted, because I am still doing too much to be long-winded today.
Over the last six months, while I’ve been nearly silent here and on LinkedIn, I have been building more work and life skills, finished reading more than eighty books, started working part-time as a mediator (not a certified professional yet, but I’ll get there), built an Instagram audience of nearly 300 people (I think at least five of them will probably buy my books when I publish 🤣), took a trip to Iowa for a Messianic Music Festival (watch for a post about that soon!), made twenty posts on Lexi’s List (among them, the first few chapters of a new serial story), and have worked steadily toward finishing a book I am ghostwriting and one of my own novels. (I’ve also started more novels, but there’s no need to count my absurdly long list of WIPs [works in progress] right now.)
I have also been curating a list of topics to write about. Questions I am frequently asked about my work and my writing, little life events and anecdotes, books I’m reading, etc.
You know. So that I’m not entirely radio silent next time I get busy. 😉
And I’m curious! What would you like to see more of? My life as a freelancer and writer, what I’m learning, things I’ve already learned that I can pass on, practical writing and editing tips, whimsical miscellany, or all of the above? You can already read my philosophical dives into religious debate on A Piece of My Mind, and my fiction on Lexi’s List, but what do you want to see more of here and in my daily social posts?
In Other News
I’m sliding into July with space on my calendar for more editing clients! If you want to work together, all the links to contact me are here in my Linktree, or you can just message me directly. I can’t wait to work together!
I edit both fiction and nonfiction, in almost any genre (mainly Christian sub-genres), but nothing with smut/explicit content, swearing, horror, occult spirituality, or excessively gory violence. Grit and hard topics I can do, but glorifying (biblically defined) evil? Nah. I’m a Christian editor through and through, though I do work with secular writing (business and self-help genres mainly). If that sounds like what you’re looking for, let’s chat! (Okay, I don’t do vampires, werewolves, zombies, or sorcery magic either. Not my thing. 😉)
So, if you have a book you're working on that needs line/copyediting, typesetting and formatting, or proofreading, reach out! I’m always happy to help you figure out what you need, even if I’m not the right person for the job myself.
I also have some exciting projects in the works in connection with my books that I will hopefully be announcing soon (and Instagram will probably see it first, so you should follow me over there), and I’ll be focusing more on getting my YouTube up and running as well (I look forward to some interviews with fellow authors and some other fun stuff I have up my sleeve).
In Conclusione
I’m going to wrap this up with the reminder that you can follow my work on all major social media platforms, and if I vanish for a while from time to time, I’m probably working on something new and cool.
Remember to like, share, and subscribe for more! Leave a comment with your questions, suggestions, and thoughts—I love to hear from my readers.
Until next time,
Blessings!
